Morning Hydration

Why is Hydrating/Re-Mineralizing first thing in the morning so vital? Because while you have been adventuring in dreamland, your body has just spent the last 7-9 hours (hopefully) slaving away and undergoing many vital processes to ensure that upon waking you are stronger, faster, and smarter than the day before.

These processes have a cost, and it's your responsibility to pay that debt as soon as you peel back your peepers. Because of this you're slightly dehydrated and depleted in the morning.

What you will need :

~ 20 oz filtered, distilled, or natural spring water ~ 2-3 grams (pinch) Himalayan or Celtic Salts ~ 3 tablespoons organic lemon juice (not from concentrate) So first you want to get 20 oz of water in you. Remember not all water is equal. Start with making sure your water is filtered (reverse osmosis is best) Filtered water is stripped of not only harmful contaminates but trace minerals that are vital for bodily function so let's add them back in.

We do this quite effectively by adding 2-3 grams old world salts of the Pink Himalayan or Celtic variety. These are mined from ancient sea beds and are free from modern environmental toxins, plus they provide 60+ trace minerals along with needed electrolytes.

The final step to supercharging your morning hydration is to add 2-3 tablespoons organic, fresh lemon juice.

We could create yet another topic on the benefits, but we'll just mention our top few. Lemon juice has a similar acidity (pH) to your stomach's acid (HCL) and aids in setting up your day for efficient digestion. It is also known to detoxify, help manage inflammation, and provides nutrients such as potassium, vitamin C, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium to list a few. Now you have the recipe for optimal morning hydration. It's quick, easy, and relatively inexpensive.

To make it even more convenient we often prepare it the night before and leave it bedside for the morning.
